Allie's first trip to the Science Center and a visit from Uncle Nick and Aunt Terrah

We were so excited that Nick and Terrah decided to come hang out with us for the weekend and Allie got lots of love and attention :) Here are a few photos from our weekend.

Baby Cannan is Here!!

On Wednesday March 17th at 7:26 after a LONG day our good friends Matt and Celeste welcomed their baby boy Cannan Daniel into the world! He was 8 lbs 2 oz and 20.5 inches long! We have been so excited for Cannan to get here and can't believe he is finally here. Congrats Matt and Celeste! He is beautiful.

Allie meeting "her friend" we have been talking about since she was born. She really wasn't sure what to think of him.

Ready for Spring and Finishing up Winter

In the past couple weeks we have had a few days here and there that have been absolutely beautiful and we are so ready for the warm weather to be here permanently! This was a really Sunny say where we decided to try out Allie's shades. I think she liked them because she didn't try to take them off and ended up falling asleep in the stroller with them on.

When Daddy is home and decides to join us for walks this is the way Allie likes to ride. I think her daddy likes it too. She has so much fun being able to see out and be right in the middle of everything. She kicks her legs, flaps her arms and squeals 90% of the time :)

At this point Allie has tried MANY new foods. She is surprisingly a fan of green beans and peas the most! She also likes squash, applesauce, and of course cereal. She is learning to tolerate Carrots more as she doesn't throw as big a fit when we eat them anymore.

I took her to the Dr. because she had been rubbing her eyes and sneezing like crazy as well as running a low grade fever and not sleeping well. With my friend having a baby any day I knew we would want to be around the baby so I wanted to make sure it wasn't anything she could give the baby. Well the good news was she is still a very healthy 5 month old weighing 17lbs! The bad news is the Dr. said she thinks she has seasonal allergies. Thanks Daddy!

Hanging out in Southern Illinois & Allie is 5 months

At the beginning of this week we went to Southern Illinois to visit with family. During the day we had lunch at Gma and Gpa's and hung out with family. That night we went to Papa Roy and Gma Cathe's for the night. That night Allie and Daddy finished the Jesus story book bible for the first time through.

The next day we headed to Evansville to hang out with Nate, Betsy, Hallie Kate (HK), and Nolan. Hallie Kate was very excited to see Allie and wanted her to sit on her lap. Allie cooperated pretty well with her.Two first born Oldham girls with the personality to back it up.
One day they will set the world on fire

Later that night Daddy read a bible story to Allie while HK and Aiden (Cathe's grandson) listened.
at about 8:30 Allie decided she didn't want to miss out on the party any more and wanted up. She laid in my lap while HK sang her a marathon lullaby... it seriously went on for about 10 minutes and changed thoughts and tunes about 20 times. She liked rubbing her face and getting her to grab her hand. Allie went back to sleep soon after HK did.
The next day March 3, 2010 Allie turned 5 Months old. Here HK is holding her on her lap again.

We got home right before small group that night and right before I was going to feed her dinner I realized I didn't have a 5 month picture. So here she is at 5 months before she eats her cereal.
Also at 5 months she tried carrots for the first time. She acted like she was gagging on them several times... as you can tell she is going to have to learn to like carrots.

getting a little bit better...still not sure about them

Right before bed her and daddy cracked open her Big Picture Story Bible to start reading as you can see Allie does a great job of paying attention for story time. She loves it when her daddy reads to her.

Happy 5 Months Allie Grace!

Such a big girl!

This post is going to be a hodgepodge of several things that have been going on this past week.
As you have seen from the last post video Allie LOVES her bath. She kicks her feet and splashes her hands. Soon she will out grow her bath seat and be ready to just sit up in the bath tub. She loves to splash around to the point that who ever is giving the bath gets soaking wet. She thinks it is hilarious!!! These pictures don't quite do it justice but they are fun nonetheless.

Such a happy girl!
Right now Allie is really into this piano she got from my mom at Christmas. She loves pressing the "keys" and hearing it talk and play sounds. She gets SO proud of herself when she makes it sing...

Allie had been having some seriously restless sleep. There have been nights (several of them) that Allie would be up every 30 minutes. So last week I got desperate and decided the only thing I had left to try to get Allie to learn to sleep without her swaddler. She was breaking out of it over and over and wanted to be re swaddled to go back to sleep. So last monday I decided it was time to grow out of the swaddler. Monday naps were a nightmare... she cried through most of it and I swaddled her at night so she would actually get some sleep. Tuesday she cried for about 20 minutes and then went to sleep without her swaddler. That night she slept with her arms outside the swaddler. After that we haven't looked back and she has slept EVERY night since through the night...YAY! SUCCESS!!! Here are a few positions I have found her in this past week....
This day I found her at the bottom of the bed. I ran to get my camera and by the time I got back she was wide awake.

My big girl sitting up so sturdy at 4.5 months.
Allie absolutely loves her cereal because of this new love I have had to move it to BEFORE bath time otherwise bath time had become meaningless. She wants to get her hands on the bowl and spoon. I now have to give her her own spoon in an effort to keep her from grabbing mine. However, she knows when there isn't any cereal on it and then throws it. Needless to say this is a daily look for Allie during cereal time. Also, she has learned to "spit" and stick her tongue out and make the cereal go everywhere. I repeatedly tell her NO but this word has no meaning to her YET. She just laughs and things she is so funny.

YUMMY!
