Such a big girl!

This post is going to be a hodgepodge of several things that have been going on this past week.
As you have seen from the last post video Allie LOVES her bath. She kicks her feet and splashes her hands. Soon she will out grow her bath seat and be ready to just sit up in the bath tub. She loves to splash around to the point that who ever is giving the bath gets soaking wet. She thinks it is hilarious!!! These pictures don't quite do it justice but they are fun nonetheless.

Such a happy girl!
Right now Allie is really into this piano she got from my mom at Christmas. She loves pressing the "keys" and hearing it talk and play sounds. She gets SO proud of herself when she makes it sing...

Allie had been having some seriously restless sleep. There have been nights (several of them) that Allie would be up every 30 minutes. So last week I got desperate and decided the only thing I had left to try to get Allie to learn to sleep without her swaddler. She was breaking out of it over and over and wanted to be re swaddled to go back to sleep. So last monday I decided it was time to grow out of the swaddler. Monday naps were a nightmare... she cried through most of it and I swaddled her at night so she would actually get some sleep. Tuesday she cried for about 20 minutes and then went to sleep without her swaddler. That night she slept with her arms outside the swaddler. After that we haven't looked back and she has slept EVERY night since through the night...YAY! SUCCESS!!! Here are a few positions I have found her in this past week....
This day I found her at the bottom of the bed. I ran to get my camera and by the time I got back she was wide awake.

My big girl sitting up so sturdy at 4.5 months.
Allie absolutely loves her cereal because of this new love I have had to move it to BEFORE bath time otherwise bath time had become meaningless. She wants to get her hands on the bowl and spoon. I now have to give her her own spoon in an effort to keep her from grabbing mine. However, she knows when there isn't any cereal on it and then throws it. Needless to say this is a daily look for Allie during cereal time. Also, she has learned to "spit" and stick her tongue out and make the cereal go everywhere. I repeatedly tell her NO but this word has no meaning to her YET. She just laughs and things she is so funny.

YUMMY!

Allie- Ms Personality

It is amazing how much personality Allie develops on a daily basis. She really is turning into her own person and just loves life. She is a total people person and loves to make people laugh or at least watching them laugh. She is also starting to discover her own voice. She has been making a lot of interesting sounds lately including squawking..just as my AG crew. This video is of her newest trick..that and to show her intense enthusiasm for bath time!

Makin Money

So this past week we decided now that Allie is four months it is time for her to start making money! All kidding aside Allie and I participated in a diaper study on Monday, Tueday, and Wednesday afternoons. It was awesome basically we had to put on their disposable diaper they filled it with sterile water and then she played for 1 hour with me, about 15 other kids, and their moms. We had a blast. First of all I didn't realize how large my child is compared to other kids. She doesn't seem to be a big baby but she was the same size as several 8 month old babies in the same study. In fact this was for size 3 diapers and she was the youngest of all babies. Everyone else was 8 months to 18 months. She held her own though. Now that she is sitting up all the time and can stand when holding on to something she was right there with the rest of them.

At one point there was a boy that was sitting in front of her and she decided it would be fun to see what would happen when she grabbed his collar and pulled down. Needless to say the boy landed flat on his back and she thought it was funny. I had to tell her "NO" but she would just look at me as if to say "what?". She tried pulling him down 3 or 4 more times but I never let her pull him down completely. The little boy didn't seem to mind... his mom said he was the youngest of 3 boys so he was used to it. Nevertheless I informed Allie boys don't like it when you can beat them up. Especially when they are twice your age!

The nurses all fought over her when it came time to measure her and evaluate the diaper.. everyone kept saying how I have the cutest baby they have ever seen... I do agree but it is nice when other people notice. All in all it was a great time for her to be around other babies (she never really has before) and to top it off we made $240! SWEET!

On our way to the study the last day

Home from the study with her very first paycheck.
getting excited

hooray I am rich!
now what do I want to do with all this money? I want to eat it of course.
Lately daddy has been joining in for bath time and I have to say he is a lot more fun at bath time than mommy. He sings lots of songs and plays all kinds of games while getting a baby clean. Thanks daddy we love bath time with you! (so does mommy cause she can actually get something done!)
she is becoming quite the daddy's girl!

and she LOVES her bath, that and being naked...

Allie pretty much thinks Noah and I are the funniest people on the planet... because we are..obviously...and I have been trying to catch her cracking up on video for the longest time and well... mission accomplished!

Happy Birthday aunt Brooke. I couldn't think of a better way to say happy birthday than to get naked and put on my tutu. I hope you have a wonderful Birthday!

4 months old- February 3rd

4 months old? Seriously where has the time gone? Baby girl I can't even believe how much you have grown and changed in the last 4 months. You are such a big girl. You are over 15 lbs and 26 inches long. You love to laugh and your laugh makes mommy laugh. Often we both start laughing at eachother and can't stop. I love hearing you laugh and you think your mommy and daddy are really funny.

You started sitting up this week, you are always so proud of yourself when you are sitting like a big girl.

You have pretty much mastered the activity gym. You can grab everything on it no matter where I put it. Once you grab it you hold on to it and then either get frustrated cause it wont get in your mouth or stare at me as if to ask what do I do now?

Here you are double fisting it :) You got ahold of both Mr. Penguin and the Alligator.
However, life doesn't get much better than when you have a hold of Mr Penguin and Gracie your two favorite things!

You also love your excersaucer. You spend a few minutes in it every day and you have figured out everything on it. You are also such a happy girl. I love that smile :)

These past couple of weeks you had been keeping your mommy up ALL night because all you wanted to do was eat! So we finally gave you some rice cereal before you went to bed and you slept from 7:30 pm till 7:30 am! You are still not really sure what to do when you get it in your mouth but eventually you get it down. I can't believe you are already eating food.
Every night your daddy reads you a bible story from your bible. Your daddy loves spending this time with you. He is a great story teller and you enjoy it too.
Who knew a 4 month old would sit and listen to her daddy read to her but you do. I think it is because you really love your daddy. You love hearing your daddy talk. As soon as you hear his voice no matter where we are you strain your neck to find him. Even when he is preaching you are always wanting to see him even if you are supposed to be eating!
You also love your daddy sugar and daddy loves giving daddy sugar...

Yes there is your tongue. You have discovered your tongue and now want to stick it out ALL the time and lick everything.
Tummy time on daddy is MUCH better than tummy time on the floor.

You also love to stand up you get frustrated if you are sitting or lying down for more than a few minutes because you want to stand. I think you might skip crawling and go straight to walking!Yes your daddy loves you a lot!
We love you baby girl! We have enjoyed every moment of the past four months and look forward to the many months ahead.
